A lot of us grew up code-switching. Different voice at school, different voice at home, different personality in corporate, different personality with family.
We learned:
- Don’t be “too loud.”
- Don’t bring arroz y frijoles to school.
- Don’t have an accent.
- Don’t talk about where you’re from.
Somewhere along the way we internalized: “Blend in to succeed.”
But here’s the truth: Blending in makes you replaceable. Standing out makes you powerful. And your culture? Is differentiation.
